Project description
A new futuristic distribution center for Rhenus Logistics was built in Tilburg. The New Logic III is an extremely sustainable distribution center and is logistically very well situated right next to the A 58. It is located at the business park “Het Laar” in Tilburg, right on the A 58. The DC New Logic III comprises 60,400 square meters. Approximately 40,000 square meters are occupied by warehouses, 3,400 square meters by offices and 17,000 square meters by Value Added Logistics (VAL).
Sustainable materials were of high importance for the realization of this project. The amount of certified wood used in this project will protect 6,178 square meters of forest for 30 years.
General building information
The construction of the distribution center was certified with the BREEAM, the British sustainability certificate. BREEAM stands for “Building Establishment Environmental Assessment Method” and is the oldest and most widespread certification system for sustainable construction. BREEAM awards its certificate in ten different categories based on a simple point system. The distribution center New Logic III was certificated as outstanding and achieved the highest number of points that was ever reached by a DC in the Netherlands: 99,48 percent.
Why did the customer choose OBO products?
OBO offered a complete solution for this project. The customer is convinced of the OBO product quality and the short time of delivery. They were especially interested in the Hover Cube, so that now several hundred can be found above all packing tables inside the DC. Beside of this, OBO delivered RKSM cable trays, GES9 service outlets and UZD underfloor sockets.
