
A new range: Surge Protection for industry applications
Our strong team of products ensures reliable surge protection for harsh industry environments. The solutions increase system availability as the main fuses don’t fail. They are important for the industry sector, data centres and hospitals. In large systems they save space and costs without prefuses. The new range also comprises 400/690 V applications, such as for free-standing PV systems and wind power plants in demanding energy infrastructures worldwide.
MCF-P series Surge protection T1+2+3, for the highest lightning protection demands, pluggable

OBO MCF, optimised:
- State-of-the-art product for 230/400 V: 35 kA (10/350) per pole, 100 kA (10/350) in total (NPE)
- Pluggable and coded arrester inserts
- Leak-current-free: suitable as pre-meter VDE-AR-N4100
- T1+2+3-tested (IEC/EN 61643-11)
- Suitable for all lightning protection classes (I to IV)
- As TNC (type P-3), TNS and TT (type P-3+NPE) variants
- Optionally with remote signalling inverter
MC-C series: Surge protection T1+2 for 400/690 V, Industry applications
OBO MC-C technology 2.0:
- For industry applications 400/690 V
- As phase arrester (25 kA) or NPE version (100 kA)
- Also suitable for IT network (230/400 V system)
- T1+2 tested (IEC/EN 61643-11): 25/100 kA 10/350 for BZK 1
- Ifi/ ISCCR: 50 kA (follow-up current-resistant/max. permissible short-circuit current)
- Can be used without pre-fuse up to 315 A
- Optionally with remote signalling contact (inverter)

The new OBO CF technology
OBO integrates the standardised fuses required compactly in the surge protective device.
- For industrial applications with highly rated fuses > 160 A
- No additional pre-fuses necessary
- Function monitoring for the fuse and the surge protective device
- Improved protection level through shorter cable installations
V20-CF-3+1FS-300: Surge protection T2+3 with integrated pre-fuse
The new OBO CF technology with integrated pre-fuse:
- TN-S and TT system (can also be used for TN-C system)
- With remote signalling contact (inverter)
- ISCCR: 100 kA (max. permissible short-circuit current)
- Connection cross-section::
- 1,5 - 25 mm2 fine wire;

OBO NetDefender for outdoor areas:
- D1- and C2 protection of, for example, CCTV camera systems with PoE applications or PV inverter

Surge protection for special applications
Today, surge protection is also necessary in very small spaces (e.g. charging stations), in KNX control units and in CCTV monitoring systems. Here, OBO is offering new products.
