The OBO Lightning Protection Guide

Safely routed

At OBO Bettermann, we can look back over more than 90 years of experience in lighting and surge protection. This experience – and of course the most current standards and technical innovations – have been used in developing the company’s new lightning protection guide. With the help of this brochure, installation in the area of lightning and surge protection can now be designed more easily and quickly as it contains a balanced mix of basic knowledge, expert information, as well as planning and selection aids around the protection of buildings and systems.

Both for electrical engineers as well as for planners, the lightning protection guide provides an effective support tool when designing practical and professional lightning and surge protection systems. The brochure shows examples of the correct application of the current standard DIN EN 62305 for the planning and erection of lightning protection systems, the installation standard for surge voltage protection DIN EN 60364 or the newest building standard for foundation earthers DIN 18014.

At the same time, the guide is comprised of newly developed planning aids for the fast and efficient design of interception rods and interception masts depending on the wind load – considering the requirements of Eurocodes 1 and 3.

All important subjects relating to the design of lightning and surge protection for buildings and systems are covered, making it a useful and handy reference book for all planners and electrical engineers.
