Combination arrestors (T1+T2) MCF75 and MCF 100

Double protection for every type of building

To prevent damage to property and injury to people through surge voltages, surge protection in accordance with VDE 0100-443 has been mandatory since October 2016 in all new or extended buildings and for all new electrical installations. Serious damage to electronic devices and systems is not only caused by direct lightning strikes, but more often through surge voltages from lightning strikes within a radius of two kilometres.

The new type 1 + 2 MCF Compact combination arrestors offer effective protection against the effects of lightning strikes and surge voltages. The device is installed at the supply point of the building and secures both industrial systems and offices, commercial facilities or housing. It can be used with ease in buildings of lightning protection classes 1 to 4 and offers system protection up to 315 A without a separate preliminary fuse. The combination arrestor is available in 3-pin (TNC network) and 4-pin (TT and TNS network) versions. Remote signalling with potential-free changeover is included with every version at no extra cost. In addition, a coloured, leak current-free status display also signals to the end customer whether the device is still functioning.

Mounting is quick and easy – just snap the combination arrestor onto the hat rail in the switchgear cabinet. Also, in comparison to standard devices, the MCF Compact is around 25% smaller and is thus more space-saving and easier to insert in the switchgear cabinet. A QR code on the device helps to recall technical information from the OBO website quickly using various end devices, such as a smartphone or tablet PC.
